I have been so thankful for the new connections I have made around my book, Literacy Coaching: Transforming Teaching and Learning withTechnology and Digital Tools. I have met new literacy coaches, some virtually and some online, who are doing amazing things in their schools and am honored to learn from them. To keep the collaborative learning going, I am facilitating a Voxer book study around my book during the month of October. Here’s how it will work:
Starting the first week of October, we will explore one chapter per week asynchronously using audio messages, pictures and attachments through Voxer. Together, we will explore the content of the chapter and share our insights, ideas and questions. This space will also give us an opportunity to share our experiences around the launching points we try and the connections that we envision, or actually see, within the classroom.
Each week, I will post open-ended invitations for inquiry and practice around the content within each chapter. Participants can share their thinking throughout the week to generate a lively discussion and learning community.
To support our learning, I will create a Google Doc for participants to add their name, location and contact information to facilitate additional connections and collaborations throughout the school year. We will also use #LiteracyCoaching on Twitter to share thinking and resources to extend our learning together. Based on the interests of the group, we can explore using Padlet and Flipgrid as well.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out this brief form to be added to the Voxer chat and stay tuned for additional information. I look forward to learning together!
